T’Challa better known as Black Panther is the known king of the secluded technologically enhanced nation of Wakanda located in the center of Africa. Pampered, groomed, and heavily prepared since birth for the role of both King and Black Panther, T’Challa had become his country’s leader and protector. Wakanda to its public has been known to be a country of farmers and breeders with little to offer to the world aside from dope clothing. When in actuality Wakanda is much more advanced than the world itself. It’s shown to be technologically advanced having tech decades away from the rest of the world. Due to this, Wakanda purposely chose not to get involved with world affairs unless they directly affect Wakanda itself. Initially at war with each other millions of years ago for possession of Vibranium when it first landed in Wakanda, the country was united and sought peace and alliance under one rule the Black Panther whose mantle has been passed down for many generations from king to king. The Black Panther serves as both king and guardian of the land to ensure the tribes are living in harmony, the safety of its precious resource, and the safety of Wakanda ensuring no outsiders learned of Wakanda’s advancements as by doing so will turn the world’s attention to Wakanda and conspire to invade it and disrupt the balance Wakanda has. However, after dealing with a corrupt hybrid member of the royal family in the present time, N’Jadaka, who grew to hate Wakanda after its former King T’Chaka murdered his brother after he betrayed Wakanda resulting in a war almost occurred when his son managed to take control of Wakanda until the current King T’Challa managed to set things right not only by defeating his cousin but tearing down ancient traditional law by opening up their borders to help the world instead of hiding their wealth. As the Black Panther not only does T’Challa possess superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and durability thanks to the effects of the Heart-Shaped Herb (a type of plant organically enhanced by the presence of Vibranium radiation) but also possesses a suit of Vibranium weave and claws (later upgraded to nanites) further enhancing his durability. Not only that but as he was heavily trained for the position of King, T’Challa is naturally gifted and intelligent as well an expert strategist.
Arthur Curry known as the Aquaman lived the exact opposite life of T’Challa. He was born as the hybrid human-Atlantian from Queen Atlanna of Atlantis and Tom Curry a keeper of a simple lighthouse in Amnesty Bay, Maine. Born with extraordinary abilities such as super strength (although not nearly as strong as Wonder Woman and Superman), enhanced durability, the ability to breathe and speak underwater, can communicate & command with sea animals and is intellectually gifted due to his father making sure he was aware of his heritage. Unlike T’Challa who grew up safe and pampered within palace walls, Arthur had grown up a simple life as a child from Maine and had lost his mother when he was very young due to the strict rules within Atlantis and her arranged marriage with its current king which led to her banishment. Atlantis itself has been that of a technologically advanced Marvel underwater. Under an established diplomacy it’s members were divided into different tribes set to be united by the true King of Atlantis in order to bridge both the sea and earth together. Originally Arthur shied away from Atlantian affairs only getting involved when deemed absolutely necessary such as the extraterrestrial Steppenwolf’s conquests and his younger brother Orm’s quest for power and desire to rule the surface. As a result of his younger brother’s conquest for power, Arthur was forced to intervene and usurp the throne from his brother who was willing to instigate an entire war on the surface in retribution for his mother’s banishment.
In a battle between Aquaman and Black Panther would probably depend on the circumstances. Aquaman is essentially a demigod due to his super strength whereas Black Panther is a mere human with heightened abilities and a bulletproof catsuit at his disposal. In a fair fight, Aquaman would be the victor, even with enhanced vibranium technology, Black Panther is still a mere human compared to Aquaman. Although it is unknown if sharp vibranium can cut through the skin of atlantians it’s safe to say it most likely can given the dense property of the metal but even that wouldn’t stop Aquaman. However, it has been proven that Black Panther can defeat and outwit his Atlantian rival Namor (Aquaman’s inspiration) with preparation so it’s quite possible that with anticipation, Black Panther would be able defeat Aquaman.
