Why Did Numbuh 1 pretty much abandon his team and leave them to face the ancient evil that was consuming the earth alone?
A recurring theme in the movie is Numbuh 1’s tendency to act on his own accord garnering mixed results around the movie but in the film despite holding his team in high regard and placing their well-being above his own, he was not attentive towards them. After Numbuh 1 realized Grandfather’s awakening was completely his fault he was completely downtrodden and depressed over this incident. Regardless his team still needed his help and his leadership but Numbuh 1 completely refused feeling he would get them into more trouble. Granted he recognized his mistake but Numbuh 1 should’ve stayed with his team to coordinate them properly. Without his pressuring but reassuring leadership his team would have fared well and probably even survived the battle without having to become senior Citi-zombies as Numbuh 1 was so focused on rectifying his error that he seemingly didn’t have the chance to check up on his team, Numbuh 5 already became a Senior Citi-zombie because they weren’t able to leave the convention center fast enough. This later comes back to bite him when they ambush him at the moonbase as Senior Citizombies.
Where did Grandfather’s powers come from?
Grandfather is basically a one-dimensional villain wanting to take over the world just because he wants solitude and tapioca. As a result, the viewer (and much of the KND) do not know much about him except the fact that he is Numbuh 1’s actual Grandfather and he once ruled the earth before. While Grandfather is confirmed human it is not really explained on where his powers come from. All that is really known is that he is one of the most powerful and dangerous threats to ever oppose the KND, easily surpassing Father alone with his reality-warping abilities.
How come the events of the film aren’t talked about in the series in spite of it being canon?
This question has been answered a long time ago but it is an interesting question to those who have never read it. The film is canon with the series evidenced by the new Moonbase appearing in many episodes (including a non-canon crossover) following but interestingly neither Grandfather nor the events of the film were brought up in future episodes. The revelation that the KND’s current number 1 threat is in fact Numbuh 1’s uncle along with the Delightful Children technically being his cousins yet the whole thing was brushed to the side like it was unimportant. Also, isn’t it very traumatic that all of the adults and kids were agified and enslaved? They were forced to turn on their friends/allies and terrorize them against their will. Wouldn’t therapy be required to help the KND cope with nearly being destroyed by one evil and powerful man? It’s interesting how the events are barely mentioned or even joked about. All the creator Mr. Warburton said to this question was a simple “...since it was such a traumatic event no one usually talks about it.” Basically, this answers any concerns or thoughts about why things somewhat didn’t really change between everyone.
KND Treehouses are placed on the lead operative’s house and taken away for relocation when said operative is decommissioned but how come Numbuh 1 and 0’s house happen to be the long-forgotten treehouse of coolness?
It has been stated that all Kids Next Door Treehouse bases are placed on the leader’s house and then once the leader is decommissioned, the treehouse is then removed and placed on the new sector leader’s house. However, it raises the question of how the treehouse of coolness was integrated into Numbuh 1’s house long before he became a kids next door operative. Commonly, roots are found around the house as a result of the treehouse’s presence but somehow the house is revealed to have been integrated into the treehouse of coolness without Numbuh 1’s knowledge.
Not only that but how was the treehouse of coolness integrated with Sector V’s treehouse when it was discovered to be in Great Britain in the opening?
The opening revealed that the treehouse of coolness originated in England yet somehow the tree was relocated to the United States even though Monty never moved until he reached adulthood and was obviously decommissioned when reaching 16 thus raising questions on how the treehouse of coolness was relocated despite Numbuh 0 being MIA for a very long time.
Why don’t the KND keep track of all decommissioned operatives as well as their official documents?
One of the main reasons why Numbuh 0 had become a myth in the present time was because there was no real record of him. No one actually knew his real identity which in time as consequence resulted in Numbuh 0 becoming a myth with no proof he actually exists when in fact he does exist and happens to be Numbuh 1’s socially oblivious father. Had there been records of Numbuh 0’s real identity it would’ve been easier to keep track of him and his whereabouts and would’ve been unnecessary to declare a famous KND operative nonexistent because they knew almost nothing about him. This fault is purely traced back to the KND’s lack of professional database management.
How old is Sector Z/The Delightful Children?
The long-lost KND Sector Z is revealed to be Delightful Children, in a surprising twist to the film. Sector Z had been captured by Benedict Uno (now known as Father), and experimented on, and brainwashed into becoming the now evil delightful children everyone despises. One question was raised, how old are the Delightful Children. Although it has been confirmed they are biologically the same age as Sector V, this revelation raises eyebrows on how old they actually are. Sector Z has been confirmed to be AWOL for quite a while. Their sworn enemy Nigel Uno has had a personal encounter with them before he was an official member of the KND as the Delightful Children are in fact the reason why he is bald which is a few years ago suggesting they are several years older than sector V but do not age as a side effect of the delightfulization process. This is humorously ironic considering unlike the KND who despise aging, the DCFDTL often admit they cannot wait to grow up into responsible adults. Although in some episodes the delightful children do age but this is mostly due to "agifying" technology or special resources.
How did Monty know about Father’s real identity as well as the Delightful Children?
What’s puzzling is how Numbuh 0 automatically knew of Father’s true identity as well as easily pieced together that the DCFDTL are in fact missing KND operatives. Much of the history between Father and Numbuh 0 remains unknown other than the fact that they are brothers. While Monty took on a more noble path, Ben decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and took on his mantle. However, the question remains on how Monty knew of his brother’s dark path unless Ben had decided to become evil before Monty turned 13 and was decommissioned. Although it is unknown how he easily found Ben’s whereabouts despite not having any contact with his brother. One would guess, however, is that Monty (in his decommissioned state) managed to witness Ben’s path in life and mentally kept track of him.
How come no attempt was made to cure Sector Z of their delightfulization?
Another question raised was even after sector z was revealed to be the delightful children and now everyone knows who they are, why have they made no attempt to cure them of their brainwashing? KND scientists make wonders, they were able to create a zit virus in response to the chickenpox the teens created as well as cure Henrietta Von Marzipan (back then known as Heinrich) of her chocolate form. You’d think Numbuh 1 would’ve at least tried to cure Sector Z of their brainwashing.
How come Father, the known no. 1 KND threat, chickened out during the final stance against Grandfather?
One of the biggest disappointments in cartoon network history was how the creators completely downplayed Father’s abilities in favor of painting Grandfather as the Big Bad. When Grandfather blasts his youngest son to the ground in order to shut him up and flat out mocks him. This angers Ben enough to summon his shadow suit and generate demonic flames to finally put his father in his place only to completely give up and chicken out once again. Father is the overarching antagonist of the series and while he has been defeated many times before, he’s still not to be trifled with, and to face Father without a plan is considered suicide. Yet because of his own insecurities and issues with self-worth, he chose not to assert his authority over Grandfather as he usually does to the other villains. Fans of the show would’ve loved there to be a fight scene between father and grandfather as a show of dominance but instead (likely due to timing) decided to hand that honor to Monty and Monty, alone.
The KND Recommissioning Module only awakens repressed KND operative memories but Granddad was presumably never a KND operative.
It makes zero sense how the KND Recommissioning Module is used to awaken Grandfather even though he is not a KND operative. The Recommissioning Module is used to awaken decommissioned operatives of their repressed memories should the situation call for it, however, it appears to not only work on KND Operatives but people with repressed memories in general.
How was the KND able to rebuild the Moonbase in over a month, especially a much larger one?
Cartoon logic aside, it would be impossible to build a new KND Base in the span of over a month, especially one in deep space such as the moon.
Realistically how was everybody able to survive a few close calls that occurred during the film?
Death isn’t a very talked-about subject among the KND since it’s a kid show still but there are a few puzzling events such as how some of the characters were able to realistically survive explosions and still walk out unscathed. This occurred in the beginning when Sector V launched the S.C.A.M.P.E.R.-S.O.O.P.R.E.M.E. onto Stickybeard in his crew. The vehicle was set to self-destruct and imploded inside of a cannon. Miraculously everyone survived the explosion (albeit salty). Again towards the end of the film, in order to defeat Grandfather the Kids Next Door in a last-ditch effort, the Moonbase was launched towards the being in a kamikaze causing an atomic explosion to occur. Grandfather being immortal logically managed to survive as did the senior Citi-zombies in range since they’re unkillable. However, Monty, Numbuh 1-5, and Father managed to survive despite not being shielded or having proper cover. Again due to being a kid show and form of entertainment obviously for the sake of the plot survival is needed.
Are the Senior Citi-zombies truly loyal as Grandfather made them?
The reason why Grandfather made the senior citizombies was to prevent them from obtaining hope and making sure that no matter what, they are loyal only to them and cannot be inspired by anyone to turn against him, however at the very end of the film just before the moonbase crashed onto Grandfather all of the senior citizombies run away from their master in fear rather than warn or protect him from the impending threat. Even though this was likely made for humorous reasons, it does raise questions on whether or not they are truly loyal to Grandfather as he thought they were. Granted, Grandfather grants them their memories and elements of their personalities rather than make them mindless drones but takes away their free will and makes them evil by proxy. However you think one zombie would’ve at least warned Grandfather and spotted the moonbase seeing that Grandfather was distracted at the sight of the Book of KND instead of all of them running away. An explanation for this could be because Grandfather was too shocked and surprised (if not fearful) to do anything about the incoming danger his power had waned a bit allowing the Senior Citi-zombies to regain some sense of their free will or self preservation back this is further implied after the smoke cleared revealing the sky to be blue and clear once more.
Also are the Delightful Children as delightful as Benedict thought they were?
Benedict stated that, after the revelation of Sector Z being the delightful children, that because of an unforeseen malfunction the Delightfulization Chamber (then a prototype) the effects on the delightfulization increased “eleventy billion fold” causing the effects to be permanent with no possible way to currently cure them causing them to be delightful and obedient towards adults. However, just before he made this statement the delightful children disobeyed Father and even physically pushed him after he ordered them to stand down meaning they are not as delightful as Father believed them to be. One reasonable explanation for this is that the Delightful Children only answer too and obey more dominant and powerful adults as they refuse to obey Father in his weakened/depressed state in contrast to previous episodes where they fear displeasing him.
How did the Senior Citi-zombies storm the moonbase despite seemingly having no method of traveling there?
In the climax of the film, after seizing almost every treehouse on earth the senior citizombies had begun to seize the moonbase as it is the last remaining KND sanctuary at that point. However the scene only cuts to the ongoing battle happening before them with the senior citi-zombies not how they actually arrive at the base. One could guess however is that the senior citizombified KND operatives along with the teen ninjas piloted themselves to the base.
Numbuh 60 and 362 (among others) were still at the base as Senior Citizombies but how come they did not attack sector v who were still at the base?
Before they are cured it is shown that among others Numbuh 362 and 60 as Senior Citi-zombies were still at the base among other senior citizombies that have not yet left the moonbase to join Grandfather yet somehow they did not try to hinder or stop Sector V. Even if Sector Z managed to defeat and knock them unconscious they’ve still been unconscious for quite a while, it makes no sense on how they have not encountered any potential threats.
How did Senior Citi-zombified Sector V know Numbuh 1 would likely infiltrate the moonbase?
As Numbuh 0’s plan is set in motion, while Sector Z held off the remaining Senior citi-zombies, he comes face to face with his team as senior citi-zombies. Besides Numbuh 2, 3-5 were still on earth at that point yet they had enough insight to go to the moonbase rather than waiting for their final member to join them as a senior citi-zombie. It is pretty puzzling. However it’s possible that given Grandfather’s orders to zombify everyone on earth. Numbuhs 3-5 went to the moonbase to continue their original mission and zombify any remaining Kids Next Door operatives and happened to come across Numbuh 1 by chance.
What happened to the perimeter that was placed at Sector V’s treehouse and how did Numbuh 1 not encounter any KND soldiers or Senior Citizombies prior to entering his house?
Before Numbuh 3 and 4 returned to earth on a shuttle, Numbuh 362 ordered Numbuh 86 to order every operative from the arctic base to form a perimeter around Sector V to buy them some time to retrieve the modulator for the Age-o-tonic Birthday Suits in order to counteract Grandfather’s power. However no senior citizombies or KND operatives were present prior to their arrival and Tommy (in both forms), The Toiletnator and Numbuh 5 managed to slip into the treehouse without anyone noticing and on the ground level, there was no one present in the area and no ongoing battle happening. Even if the KND soldiers fell victim to the zombification they would still remember their objective to guard Sector V meaning they would attempt to storm the treehouse and Numbuh 1’s house. One reasonable explanation is that the Arctic Base was attacked prior to the order given and many airborne KND members were attacked by Senior Citi-zombies so the perimeter never made it to Sector V and were compromised.
And Why didn’t Numbuh 2 specify where the modulator was exactly when it was crucial for the mission?
Numbuh 2 told the group the modulator is needed in order to reconfigure the Age-o-tonic birthday suits yet Numbuh 3 & 4 realized he never told them where it is or what it even looks like. Sending your teammates to impending danger in order to retrieve a device they know nothing about is a failure from the start. Even though Numbuh’s 3 & 4 were compromised at the end regardless this information was indeed vital.
How come some senior citizombie transformations were completely silent?
Typically when one becomes a senior citizombie you see/hear it’s victim exposed to rapid aging, blinding lights, and screams of terror yet some Zombification processes were completely silent as was the cases of Numbuh 3 and 86. Of course this was likely for dramatic effect, but the characters themselves were also unaware of their allies becoming victims until they reveal themselves to be.
Also how come certain victims of the senior citizombification are exposed differently than others?
Some victims that were zombified were exposed a lot differently such is the case of The Toiletnator and Numbuh 5, the former took as long as several seconds while Numbuh 5 was almost instant the reason for this is likely because Grandfather was holding Toiletnator by the lid and not directly touching him while it has been shown that face/head contact infects the victim instantly due to their minds being exposed to it. In some rarer cases as stated above some transformations were completely silent (it even remains debatable on who zombified Numbuh 3 since there are 2 candidates in the area). Both Numbuh 2 and 362 before becoming Zombies were exposed to a green slime-like liquid, this could be due to them resisting the process longer. Interestingly enough as shown what happened to the Hamsters who became Senior citi-zombies just because they touched Numbuh 5, Numbuh 1 and the members of Sector Z had touched the zombies before when facing off against Sector V but retained their original form however this could be due to the fact that are in fact related to Grandfather either through blood or adoptive thus making them naturally immune and it is implied they need to be zombified by Grandfather himself.
