Why Steven Universe Future should’ve had a better ending

Honestly, the epilogue series was definitely a shock it could’ve gone and ended better. Many returning characters, new fusions, and storylines could’ve opened up and had a great part of the plot but sadly they didn’t. I mean, Bluebird Azurite (the fusion of Aquamarine and Ruby [Eyeball]) and in a way, Holly Blue Agate made it clear that they were resentful of Era 3 and the former wanted revenge on Steven but only appeared once. In fact, if anything they made Aquamarine more humorous and bumbling than before in her debut where she was menacing and technically won against the Crystal Gems. They had the potential in being the main antagonist of the series rather than simply a one-take role. Also, come to think of it although Jasper had a bigger role she was left unresolved, no one knows what’s gonna happen between her and Lapis Lazuli, we never did get to see a Lapidot fusion as well. Also, one thing for sure who would be Pearl’s romantic partner, in the entire show there were people/gems who had a fling for her such as Mayor Dewey, Bismuth, Pink Pearl, Rose, and the Mystery Girl, yet we didn’t get a chance to see who Pearl would’ve chosen because let’s face it, she’s had relationship issues with Rose Quartz due to being placed in a love triangle with her and Greg Universe. Speaking of the latter, can we take a minute to ask ourselves why Greg hasn’t gotten a new love interest or moved on from Rose, I mean seriously it would only make sense; he really needs to move on from Rose Quartz and pursue other interest. The episode where Steven transforms into a monster and back, it was no episode that resolved it or even flashbacks that asked how. In spite of Steven and the core members of the Crystal Gems I feel the show should’ve ended differently like I don’t know if Steven found gems who need a leader to guide them like Jasper, instead of running away from his feelings like his mother did, he should’ve taken some responsibility and start leading lost gems in Homeworld who need a leader instead of wallowing and wondering. That would’ve been a perfect ending because if anything the show kinda does more revealing than tying loose ends.
